This is the inevitable part of the walkthrough overview where I, the owner, try to persuade you to complete the game without the aid of this walkthrough, though I’m sure you’ve most likely already made up your mind. The Save and Quit option will ensure you return to the exact same place when continuing the game, so don’t worry about losing any progress. ![]() However, it is possible to head back roughly up to five chapters through the ‘Load Game’ checkpoints in the main menu. ![]() Bear in mind that SOMA does not feature a chapter select. Some of the shorter, more story-driven chapters have been grouped with the previous chapter to save space. The pages will be separated by the named story chapters as stated in the ‘Load Game’ menu. Instead of them appearing in the text and acting as spoilers, I’ll include them right at the top of each walkthrough page in a spoiler box to click and read if you wish. I thought they were a good idea to include for those less keen on horror games so I’ve revamped them for this walkthrough. If you’ve used the Layers of Fear Walkthrough here on TA, you’ll be familiar with the jumpscare warnings. If you see a room I don’t mention, head inside and poke around. Don’t feel you have to follow the guide to the letter! If you see something you can interact with, go for it. I’ll include images where necessary to point out where certain things are. This guide will keep spoilers to an absolute minimum, focusing only on the essential aspects of how to solve the puzzles and where to go to progress through the game. You’ll occasionally have a choice relating to the story which I don’t mention, these choices don’t affect the playthrough as you will always visit areas in the same order. There are many collectables in the game but they are not required for any achievements. Do not do this before speaking with them.
